Competition Information
Competitions are an integral part of most photographic clubs and the Rangiora Photographic Society is no exception.
Many members find the competitions a useful way to help develop their techniques, from composition to final print quality. We have three categories from beginners (C Grade) to the advanced and experienced (A grade), so members compete on an equal footing with our peers. Each competition is judged by someone from outside the club, who will give useful feedback as where the photograph can be improved or what quality merited an award for the photograph. We grant two levels of awards in the competitions; Honours and Acceptance.
Members can progress through the grades based on the merits of their work, either based on the numbers of points gained in the competitions each year, or by submitting a portfolio to the Committee.
